The Safety School Award is a recognition granted solely by Youth Safety First to schools that consistently demonstrate an exceptional commitment to student safety. 

This award is given to schools that prioritise safety and actively foster a culture of protection, awareness, and well-being.

Multiple levels of recognition are available, reflecting the depth and consistency of a school's safety practices.

Schools that take a whole-school approach to safety and foster a culture of care and responsibility, are eligible for YSF Safety School status.

Safety schools prioritise the health & well-being of their school community by;

​

• providing YSW safety training to staff 

• supporting parents to navigate the challenges their children face

• delivering YSW safety education to students

• appointing Safety Champions
