PROFESSIONAL TRAINING SERVICES

Professionals working with children and young people face growing challenges in addressing complex social, emotional and behavioural needs. Issues such as county lines, knife crime, anti-social behaviour, and risk-taking require not only awareness, but also the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively. We equip professionals with practical skills and confidence to manage behaviour, de-escalate conflict, and create safer, more supportive learning environments.

We are a trusted train-the-trainer provider for local authorities and youth services, delivering high-quality professional development that builds confidence and capability. Our training enables professionals to recognise risk, have informed conversations, and provide effective support and safeguarding for young people.

We cover key issues affecting young people today, including knife crime, exploitation and county lines, conflict, antisocial behaviour, and risk-taking behaviours such as substance misuse. Our content

At Youth Safety First we understand these challenges first-hand. Our team are not only experienced training consultants but also practitioners who work directly with young people every day. This dual perspective places us in a unique position to deliver training that:

  • Offers the most accurate and up-to-date facts.

  • Provides practical tools for identifying risk, and knowing when and how to intervene.

  • Shares interactive and engaging approaches for starting meaningful conversations with young people.

Responsive, Real‑Time Content Development Through the Cardiff School‑Based Violence Task Force

As a proud and active partner of the Cardiff Council School‑Based Violence Task Force, we are uniquely positioned to respond to emerging risks affecting young people. The challenges facing students today are fast‑paced, complex, and constantly evolving, particularly with the rise of harmful online trends that can escalate conflict or place young people at risk.

Our involvement in the task force means we hear about issues in real time, directly from schools, safeguarding teams, youth workers, and community partners. This immediate insight allows us to:

  • Identify new patterns of behaviour as they emerge

  • Understand the online trends influencing young people’s actions

  • Respond quickly with relevant, evidence‑informed content

  • Adapt our sessions to address risks before they escalate

By combining our specialist expertise with the intelligence shared by partner agencies, we are able to develop timely, targeted interventions that tackle issues as they happen — ensuring our programmes remain current, impactful, and aligned with the lived experiences of young people across Cardiff.
