In response to an increasing demand for support suitable for children as young as 8 years old (Year 4) we have worked with teachers, young people and other professionals to develop the following age-appropriate education.
Standalone 50-minute Workshops

YSF Academy Curriculum
Through the Youth Safety First Academy, we offer the ‘Level Up’ Curriculum – a complete life skills education package. This can be delivered directly by our expert team, or by your teaching staff following our Train-the-Teacher session.
After School Clubs
Our Level Up Curriculum, Safety Squad and Safety In Your Hands Programmes offer a great alternative for after school clubs.

SAFETY SQUAD
The Safety Squad Programme has been developed to address the lack of personal safety provision for primary school pupils, focusing specifically on Year 6. Created in collaboration with Head Teachers, professionals, and young people across Cardiff, the programme delivers 10 structured sessions that explore key aspects of personal safety alongside social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Safety Squad equips children with the knowledge and skills needed to manage the transition to secondary school, preparing them for greater independence, new environments, and the challenges associated with increased freedom and travel.
This programme has been made possible through funding from Citizens UK and the Youth Endowment Fund.
YSF CURRICULUM
YSF 'Level Up' curriculum is a comprehensive, flexible programme designed to equip children and young people with the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe at school, at home, and at play.
Level Up can be delivered as a full programme across the academic year or as standalone modules to suit the needs of your students and your working timetable.
Our Train-the-Teacher initiative provides educators with the tools to confidently deliver modules at their own pace, integrating essential safety education directly into classroom learning.
Level Up also offers a great after-school club idea!
