School-Based Youth Safety Councils
YSF Youth Safety Councils are student-led groups that give young people a voice in making their school a safer and more supportive place. Council members meet regularly to talk about personal safety, concerns around behaviour or violence, and ways to help everyone feel respected and included.
The council encourages honest conversations between students and adults to help staff understand what’s really going on from the student perspective, and makes sure that all voices are heard. By working together, students and teaching staff can build a school environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and able to speak up.

CARDIFF: YOUTH VIOLENCE PREVENTION PANEL
Youth Safety First CIC is partnering with Cardiff Council Community Safety Team and the Violence Prevention Unit to create a new Youth Safety Panel.
This panel will be made up of YSF Safety Ambassadors, who will meet regularly with the Community Safety Team and the Violence Prevention Unit to help shape, develop and review violence prevention initiatives across the city.
The Youth Safety Panel aims to bring in the voices of young people who are disengaged from services and may not usually have the chance to be heard. Their lived experiences of violence will guide safer, more effective solutions for Cardiff.
